Bridget is a painter and designer who likes to portray her subjects using bold and lively colors in a representational way but not to the point of photo-realism. They are stylized but not abstract.
"Things in nature are what give me the inspiration to create. I'm always seeing my world as if through view finders. Applying color is my main objective and where I have the most fun in the process of painting. The bright colors I often choose evoke the happiness I feel when the sun is shining just perfectly on my subjects. There is not a right or wrong color to use because when you really look, you can find touches of multiple hues on everything around us. The time of day, backdrop, reflections of surrounding objects and light, all contribute to the end vision. Design and composition are so important to a picture plane. When the basic shapes and values are established, that magic happens. I prefer having no political statements or any underlying message but just showing my interpretation of those wonderful things that give me joy."
